Corporate Mentoring for Young Adults

When managing Gen Z feels harder than it should be

Stabilize. Develop. Retain.

How do you reach your Gen Z employees, learn what drives them, and help them want to stay? Ken Rabow has spent over twenty years mentoring young adults one-on-one, and training the adults who guide them.

The Problem

Sound familiar?

Capable young employees who freeze, go quiet, or quietly leave. Managers repeating themselves and running out of patience. What you are seeing is real, and fixing it takes a method built for exactly this.

Explaining tasks repeatedly. The same task, explained again and again, still ends in confusion or quiet non-compliance.

Messages going unanswered. Communications sit unread, or responses arrive too late to matter. Urgency never registers.

Feedback that shuts people down. Reasonable feedback causes withdrawal and silence instead of improved performance.

Quiet disengagement, then exit. Motivated employees with real potential disengage silently and leave before anyone saw it coming.

Most managers are reading a digital-native brain through an analog lens. What looks like entitlement is a mind stuck, waiting to be properly engaged. The path forward is to investigate, diagnose, and guide.

After the Diagnostic

What comes after the Diagnostic is built for your organization exclusively. Twenty years of mentoring young adults, and training the adults who guide them, taught Ken that this work has to fit your culture: what you value, what drives you to be great, and what your Gen Z employees need to feel part of it. That conversation happens on the other side of your first ninety minutes.

The method, in their words

From 20+ years of mentoring young adults one-on-one

I manage Gen Z employees for a living, and I watched Ken accomplish with Ryan in months what most managers can't do in years: turn potential into ownership, structure, and results. Every manager of Gen Z should learn his approach.

Ken taught me two things I use every single day: how to build a week I can actually keep, and how to ask for help before I'm drowning. My manager noticed the difference before I did.

About

Ken Rabow

Over more than twenty years and thousands of one-on-one sessions, Ken Rabow has mentored young adults throughout North America. His work centres on a simple reframe: the young adult is in charge of their own journey, and the mentor is there on an equal level to guide and point out the dead ends.

As founder of World Wide Youth Mentoring Inc. and creator of the Mentor's Professional Workshop, he has trained professional mentors to deliver these methods, and as a former Huffington Post contributor, he has written extensively on mentoring young adults in the digital age.

CMFYA brings this body of work inside organizations: the same structures that move struggling young adults to stability and self-direction, applied where companies feel the gap most, the relationship between managers and their Gen Z employees.
